This term was coined by Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Swamy in 2007 and was used in the first graduating batch of students from S.F.S. College, Electronics City on the day of their graduation. The Term was coined mainly keeping the college students in mind and no one else. The word derived from the Patron`s name “ Francis De Sales”. It was coined to address the students of St. Francis de Sales College, Bangalore, by the founder of the word. Later in the Education Forum of South West India Province (SWIP) 2003, it was unanimously approved to be used for all the students who study in SFS group of institutions across SWIP.
Therefore, DeSalite is a student of the SFS group of institutions and who has imbibed the qualities of Gentleness, patience, fidelity and fortitude in pursuit of Wisdom. Let us be a proud DeSalite wherever we are. May the world know that you are a DeSalite by your gentleness and wisdom. In the year 2014, March 27th The school Logo which we are using today has been first designed by Fr. George Chirayil in 1991 as he was the principal of SFS School Hebbagodi, Bangalore. The Logo has been modified in 2014 by Frs. Christopher Crasta , Johnson and Sudeep to bring out a branded look to the popular word. Since St. Francis de Sales is patron of journalists and he is found with a feather/ quill that is used to write in his days. Feather of a dove ( preferably white) was chosen as the logo for the DeSalite brand. Jai DeSalite!
